Per Bug Guide: "The
range is coast to Coast in USA except Arizona,
southern California and Newfoundland, larvae has
light gray dorsal body with four black equal sized
black dots on dorsal side of each abdominal
segment. Flight from July to November.
Larvae overwinter. Host plant includes
alfalfa, aster, blueberry, chickweed, clover,
corn, dock, flax, goldenrod, garden vegetables,
grasses,mullein, oats, plantain, raspberry, rye,
tobacco and wheat."
