Characteristics
Small, 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches.  Dancers have hair on their legs that is longer than the space between the hairs. They like to land on horizontal surfaces rather than foliage. Vivid blue with wide, dark, dorsal  stripe on the upper thorax. On the sides of the thorax they have black stripes pinched in the middle. The middle segments of the abdomen have backward pointing arrows on the sides. Segments eight, nine and ten are all blue. Females are tan, and patterned like males.
