Flat topped head with peak behind the eye- Short, pointed, straight bill. Nonbreeding adult - white head with black on cap and down back of the neck- front of throat and breast white - Back is black-gray - flanks whitish to gray. Adult breeding plumage consists of black head with yellow "horned" patch, red eyes, black bill, rufous neck and flanks, back has dark brownish gray scales. Utah Range Map  Back to Top |
