Description
L 6 WS 13, Brownish Breast, Dark brownish back, Greenish legs unique, Fine-tipped, slightly drooped bill, Wings and tail marked bright rufous

Behavior
Feeds on insects, mollusks, crustaceans and marine worms in muddy, grassy areas closer to shore than other peeps. Spends summers on tundra and bogs near tree line and winter along coastal and inland marshes.  Roosts near feeding areas alone or in groups in marsh vegetation or on upper beach.Lays 4 dark-marked pink eggs in ashallow depression on bog or aupland. Incubates for 19-23 day, chicks are precocial and they have one brood per season.
