Larva #4 - Brown/black with yellow markings - Little
Cottonwood Canyon, Salt Lake County, Utah - June 26, 2006. This larva died. I suspect the plant
was sprayed with insecticide by the mosquito abatement
department. This may have been a Painted Lady - Vanessa cardui- or other butterfly larva.
Since it didn't live, I was not able to determine the species.
