scales across the nose in front of the eyes, most other snakes have

- A powerful constrictor that hunts rodents in their burrows
and
occasionally will climb trees to search for birds' eggs
- They can be
found
in deserts, sagebrush, grasslands, meadows, brushy areas, tundra,
forests
and woodlands
