family, the thickstem Aster is 10 to 24 inches tall and blooms in late
August and early September. It has 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch
purple to
lavender
flowers made up of 10 to 25 rays surrounding a yellow-orange disk
flower.
The bracts and stalks are covered with hairs
