Description
Per Al Schneider of
swcoloradowildflowers.com this species of
currant is described as having sprays of tiny
white flowers that protrude from the tips
of stems, but usually don't produce fruit.
The fruits that are produced are black and
minutely hairy. This species is common to
abundant in relatively moist subalpine
forests. The leaves resemble lobed
miniature maple leaves. It grows from four
to six feet tall and wide with gray bark and the
branches are thornless. The plant often
spreads a mat of gray branches horizontally and
close to the ground.
