Located March 22 2009, along road between Leeds and Oak Grove,
Washington County, Utah
Characteristics
Perennial, basal
leaves and leaves along the stout stems are opposite, gray/green and
rolled inward. The stems are green to pink. Flowers have five
petals and range from a peachy pink color to a bright coral red. The
open flower is usually in a horizontal position rather than
pointing upward or downward per Al Schneider. They are located in
semi desert locations on hillsides. These were in sandy soil.
