Description
13 to 23 feet tall with silvery-gray long, narrow leaves with silky gray hairs when young and a few irregular, widely spaced small teeth.  Grows along streambanks providing cover for birds and animals as well as erosion control.

There are a number of moths whose larvae use the willow as a host plant.
