Characteristics
1.4 - 2 inches long, abdomen bronze / brown with tan, thin rings  between segments and  pale side stripes.  The top of the thorax is dark red, from the side the base color of the thorax  is pale with two dark reddish stripes. The eyes and head look dark red to brown.   The wings are ruby-red  from the base outward for approximately one-third of the wing. The wing also shows a small brownish stigma.
