DATE: August 2014 GPS: N- 38.16.9, W- 112.28.44 ELEVATION: 7350 feet Located two females and they oviposited 171 ova. They over wintered as ova. Ova were taken out of hibernation on May 13, 2015. They began emerging May 15, 2015. They are being fed Ribes leptanthum which is the plant used by the female to oviposit. PHOTOS First Instar 15 May 2015 - 1 mm long Second Instar 18 May 2015 - 2 mm long On 22 May 2015 - 3 mm long Third Instar on 26 May 2015 - 5.5 mm long (exuvia found on leaf) Third Instar #2 on 26 May 2015 showing slightly lighter color of cervical shield ( a horny plate used to throw off the head plate when molting) Fourth Instar #2 on May 31, 2015 - 12 mm, on May 1st, and it was 16 mm on May 6, 2015 LIFE HISTORY: Ovum: Overwinter as ova - Larvae began to emerge 2 days after being taken out of hibernation.
